Weed Control

The RM of Wawken has contracted Acresa to provide Weed Inspection Services for the municipality. Their inspectors assist the RM in identifying and controlling prohibited, noxious, and nuisance weeds in accordance with Saskatchewan legislation.

Residents and landowners play an important role in helping manage invasive and regulated weeds. If you notice weeds of concern within the municipality, please contact the RM Office. Reports will be forwarded to our Weed Inspectors for assessment and follow-up as required.

Each SARM Division employs a full-time Plant Health Technical Advisor who develop, promote, and implement best practices within their division to proactively identify, monitor and assist in the control of invasive/emerging threats to plant biosecurity in agriculture with the goal of developing more comprehensive and uniform control strategies across the province.
