Elections

The next election for Divisions 2, 4, and 6 Councillors will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026.

The Council of the RM of Wawken No. 93 is made up of one Reeve and six Councillors, with each councillor representing one of the municipality’s six divisions.

Unlike cities, towns, and villages, rural municipalities in Saskatchewan hold elections on a rotating basis.

  • Reeve and Odd-Numbered Divisions (1, 3 & 5): Elections are held every four years.
  • Even-Numbered Divisions (2, 4 & 6): Elections are also held every four years, but two years after the Reeve and odd-numbered division elections.

This staggered election cycle helps maintain continuity on Council while still providing residents with regular opportunities to elect their representatives. Each elected official serves a four-year term.
